Yesterday's
news
paper came with a sad news. A sad news that disturb me so much
that I was not even able to write this article for hours. News was about
bird species being extinct recently from India. The news was just a
part of the big picture, every year some bird, animals, plants or
insect species are getting closer to extinction. We often do not
think much over it, but it signifies that there is major turbulence in
the environment. The reasons could be countless for this to happen.
We as humans are gifted with the power of observation and wisdom that
could make some change.
There
has been situations like these in the past when pool of species
reduced from some million to some thousands. We always know from the
start that we are not the first once to dwell on the earth that has
this much successes. We even built cities, dams and even changed the
terrain and oceanic where ever we needed. We have very
nasty habit of changing the world surrounding us. We inflicted very
devastating effect on the life of other and our own species.
The
reduction in the number of species could be a consequence of the
process known as the Survival of the fittest. According to study
conducted by scientists there are nearly 8.70 million species present
on the earth, and according to one other study every day nearly 150
to 200 species are getting extinct. Some people might start counting
their days after reading this, no problem with that this is a natural
tendency. We are acting as a catalyst in this process of extinction.
Although I never came across any information on how many species
created per day, but lets hope for the good.
We
have to understand that we have to take care of our earth. Earth has
acted as our mother and father for so long time, every species on the
earth helped us in getting at the position in which we are present.
Now its our turn to be responsible and support and protect other
species, we have to repay what we have taken from them. We have to
act fast if we don’t it wont be far when our species will be on the
list of extinct once.
